Powers Chosen For WIAC Track & Field Weekly Award
The WIAC named UW-Oshkosh's Ryan Powers as one of its two Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week award winners for meets held Feb. 1-7.
Powers, the league's top track performer, won the 400-meter run with a NCAA Division III-leading time at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Open held Feb. 5.
Powers defeated 15 other contestants in the 400-meter run with his time of 49.01 seconds. Ian Hall of Ripon College finished second in the event with a time of 49.81 seconds.
UW-Oshkosh claimed the team title with 297 points, while St. Norbert College finished second with 131.5. Ripon College placed third in the four-team meet with 86.5 points.
Robert Starnes of UW-Whitewater was chosen as the WIAC Field Athlete of the Week.
