Lieder Named WIAC Swimming Athlete Of The Week

The WIAC selected UW-Oshkosh's Jarrett Lieder as its Kwik Trip Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for events held Jan. 27 - Feb. 2. It is Lieder's third WIAC weekly award this season, following his selections for the periods of Oct. 21 - 27 and Dec. 16 - Jan. 5.

Lieder broke UW-Oshkosh's 400-yard individual medley record during the Titans' 114-86 home victory over Beloit College on Jan. 31.

Lieder, who already owns UW-Oshkosh records in the 200-, 500-, 1,000- and 1,650-yard freestyles, established his fifth school mark with his winning swim of 4:16.33 in the 400-yard individual medley.

Lieder also won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:12.53 while helping Alex Jernberg, Jack Miller and Andrew Park post a victorious performance of 3:29.76 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

During UW-Oshkosh's 115-54 road win over Ripon College on Feb. 1, Lieder contributed a pair of first-place finishes.

Lieder won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:53.03 and the 1,000-yard freestyle with a swim of 10:17.17. He also helped Jack Miller, Andrew Park and Josiah Vandenberg register a first-place time of 1:31.73 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

UW-La Crosse's Cameron Pumilia was named the WIAC Men's Diving Athlete of the Week.
