Lieder Breaks Another School Record During Titans Win Over Buccaneers

Jarrett Lieder broke UW-Oshkosh's 400-yard individual medley record during the Titans' 114-86 victory over the Beloit College men's swimming & diving team on Friday (Jan. 31) in Albee Hall.

Lieder, who already owns UW-Oshkosh records in the 200-, 500-, 1,000- and 1,650-yard freestyles, established his fifth school mark with Friday's winning swim of 4:16.33 in the 400-yard individual medley.

Lieder also won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:12.53 while helping Alex Jernberg, Jack Miller and Andrew Park post a victorious performance of 3:29.76 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Jernberg and Matt Wilke contributed a pair of individual victories for the Titans as well. Jernberg earned winning times of 1:04.42 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 17:42.05 in the 1,650-yard freestyle while Wilke tallied first-place scores of 285.60 in the 1- and 330.67 in the 3-meter diving.

Miller added a win in the 200-yard backstroke with his time of 2:06.33 while finishing second in the 400-yard individual medley at 4:31.98.

UW-Oshkosh's remaining victory came in the 400-yard medley relay. The quartet of David Bain, Cody Else, Jarod Falk and Matt Holst won the event for the Titans with their time of 4:08.90.

The Titans' four other second-place finishes included a pair from Park. He earned those listings with times of 50.40 seconds in the 100- and 1:51.30 in the 200-yard freestyles.

UW-Oshkosh also had Bain finish second in the 200-yard backstroke and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with times of 2:16.95 and 2:05.20, respectively, and Else second in the 1,650-yard freestyle at 18:08.51 and third in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:06.32.

Titan Matt Holst finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.72 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh will send its swimmers to Ripon College for a dual meet and its divers to the University of Illinois at Chicago for an invitational on Saturday (Feb. 1).
