Titans Unable To Register Win Over Tritons

Matt Wilke was UW-Oshkosh's lone event winner during the Titans' 154-60 men's swimming & diving loss to Iowa Central Community College on Saturday (Jan. 26) in Albee Hall.

Wilke swept both diving events in a meet for the seventh time this season (12 opportunities) after totaling 264.53 points off the 1-meter board and 294.30 off the 3-meter plank.

UW-Oshkosh had four second-place finishes against its first-time opponent, including Evan Bredesen who totaled 193.65 points in the 1-meter diving and Jarrett Lieder who recorded a time of 17:11.68 in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

The Titans were the runner-up in both relays after posting times of 3:20.01 in the 400-yard freestyle and 3:57.97 in the 400-yard medley.

Members of 400-yard freestyle relay team were Lieder, Case Geidl, Michael Gerondale and Ian Sewell. The 400-yard medley relay quartet consisted of Geidl, David Bain, Cody Else and Alex Jernberg.

UW-Oshkosh's five third-place finishes included a pair by Jernberg and one apiece by Gerondale, Lieder and Sewell.

Jernberg registered times of 2:23.06 in the 200-yard breaststroke and 17:53.66 in the 1,650-yard freestyle while Gerondale went 51.42 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle, Lieder 5:01.35 in the 500-yard freestyle and Sewell 1:55.58 in the 200-yard freestyle.

The Titans concluded their top finishes with the fourth-place times of 2:16.05 in the 200-yard backstroke by Bain, 2:36.68 in the 200-yard breaststroke by Else, 22.61 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle by Geidl and 1:57.34 in the 200-yard freestyle by Gerondale.

Next Saturday (Feb. 2), UW-Oshkosh's swimmers host Ripon College in Albee Hall while the team's divers perform at the University of Illinois at Chicago Diving Invitational.
