Titans Double-Up Vikings' Score

Grady Hilgendorf and Tyler Shircel won two events and swam on a first-place relay team apiece to lead UW-Oshkosh to a 115.5-53.3 men's swimming & diving victory over Lawrence University on Friday (Dec. 12) in Albee Hall.

Hilgendorf captured his individual victories with times of 18:46.35 in the 1,650-yard freestyle and 1:07.95 in the 100-yard breaststroke. He then teamed with Andrew Bores, Brandon Davison and Val Mikitchik to win the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:38.66.

Shircel opened the meet by helping Jacob Casper, Zach Hogan and Myles Taylor win the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.00. Shircel then won the 100-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle with respective times of 59.15 and 5:21.91.

UW-Oshkosh also had Casper win the 100-yard backstroke in 58.56, Hogan the 200-yard individual medley in 2:08.41 and Taylor the 50-yard freestyle in 22.72.

The Titans had four second-place performances, including Casper who posted a time of 2:18.00 in the 200-yard individual medley. Bores finished second in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:58.75, Davison in the 100-yard freestyle at 53.81 and Mikitchik in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:07.06.

Taking third place for UW-Oshkosh were Hogan, Taylor and Alec Marquardt. Hogan recorded a time of 1:09.81 in the 100-yard backstroke, Taylor a mark of 1:12.31 in the 100-yard breaststroke and Marquardt a value of 55.59 in the 100-yard freestyle.

Following a training trip to Florida and a holiday break, UW-Oshkosh resumes action at Beloit College on Jan. 23.
