Titans, Tommies To Play Match In Kimberly

Nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh and the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) meet for a men's soccer match at Kimberly's Papermaker Stadium (545 John Street) on Friday (Sept. 13).

The Titans (3-0-2), ranked 14th in the NCAA Division III, will be the home team for the 7 p.m. contest. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students.

A dozen players with local ties are on rosters for the Titans and the Tommies. UW-Oshkosh features Appleton North High School graduates Kirby Allen, Elias Efthimiou and Chris Whalen. The Fox Valley will also be represented by Titans Trent Allison from Fox Valley Lutheran, Sam Gabrilska from Oshkosh North, Jacob Hernandez from Xavier, Chris Kurth from Green Bay Southwest and Tony Starnes from Green Bay Notre Dame.

The University of St. Thomas owns a pair of Green Bay Notre Dame products in Matt Bouche and Nick Rapisarda. Other Tommies from the area are Connor Brush from Neenah and Trent Bielke from Appleton North.

UW-Oshkosh has opened the year with five consecutive shutouts. The Titans hold a 5-1-2 record against the University of St. Thomas, and the two squads played to a 0-0 tie during their 2004 meeting.

The Tommies bring a 3-1 record into Friday's match.
