Fravert Chosen To All-Star Game Roster

The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced that UW-Oshkosh senior forward Adam Fravert was among 20 players selected to participate in the since-canceled Reese's® NCAA Division III All-Star Basketball Game.

The contest, which was canceled due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, was scheduled to be played Saturday (March 21) prior to the Division III Championship semifinals in Fort Wayne, Ind. Despite the cancellation of Saturday's events, the NABC felt it was appropriate to still recognize the All-Stars for their outstanding senior seasons.

The All-Star teams consisted of two senior student-athletes from each of the eight Division III regions, two senior at-large selections and two seniors who were selected by online voting on D3hoops.com. Typically, players whose teams are still playing in the Division III Championship were not available for consideration, however, that requirement was waived when the tournament was canceled.

Fravert was named to a 10-player team that was to have been guided by former Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) head coach Mark Edwards.

Other players on the Edwards-led team were Nathan Bower-Malone of the University of Mount Union (Ohio), Brian Cameron of Wesley College (Del.), Derrick DeVries of Calvin University (Mich.), Danyon Hempy of The College of Wooster (Ohio), Nate Schimonitz of Nebraska Wesleyan University, Carter Voelker of UW-Platteville, Jared Wagner of York College (Pa.), Randall Walko of The College of New Jersey and Tim Wendel of Crown College (Minn.).

Players that were chosen to play for former Westminster College (Pa.) head coach Jim Dafler were Jacob Bates of Centre College (Ky.), Riley Collins of Drew University (N.J.), Booker Coplin of Augsburg University (Minn.), Kena Gilmour of Hamilton College (N.Y.), Doug Levy of John Jay College (N.Y.), Connor Raridon of North Central College (Ill.), Sammy Robinson of St. John Fisher (N.Y.), Jake Ross of Springfield College (Mass.), Riley Thompson of Ithaca College (N.Y.) and Nate West of LeTourneau University (Texas).

Fravert, the first UW-Oshkosh player selected to participate in the Reese's® Division III All-Star Basketball Game, was named to the Division III All-America First Team by the NABC earlier this week.

Fravert, the 2020 NABC Central District Player of the Year, led the Titans this season with 18.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game to go along with 65 made 3-pointers, a .810 free throw percentage and 13 double-doubles. He paced UW-Oshkosh in scoring on 15 occasions, in assists 18 times and in rebounds 17 times as the Titans concluded the year with a 20-9 record and advanced to the second round of the Division III Championship.

Starting all 29 games this season, Fravert scored in double figures 27 times, including a career-high 37-point effort on 15 of 23 shooting from the field with eight rebounds, six assists and three blocks against LaGrange College (Ga.) on Dec. 30. He had 32 points and 11 rebounds at UW-Platteville on Jan. 29, and 30 points at Emory University (Ga.) on Dec. 29. Emory University ranked second nationally and UW-Platteville 15th by D3hoops.com at the time.

Fravert and UW-Oshkosh made four consecutive trips to the Division III Championship, beginning with a first-round appearance in 2017. The Titans then reached the national championship game in Fravert's sophomore season before securing the program's first Division III title in 2019 with a 96-82 victory over Swarthmore College (Pa.) as Fravert was named to the five-member All-Tournament Team at the Final Four. UW-Oshkosh reached the second round of the national tournament this season, finishing the year with an 84-82 overtime setback at 11th-ranked North Central College (Ill.) on March 7.

Fravert helped lead UW-Oshkosh to a 91-31 record, one WIAC postseason title and one league regular season championship in his four seasons. The Titans' 2019 WIAC regular season title was the program's first outright since 1978 while their 2020 postseason conference championship was the school's fourth overall.

Fravert is a three-time All-WIAC selection, garnering Co-Player of the Year honors in 2020 and First Team accolades in 2019 since being named to the league's Honorable Mention Team in 2018. He concluded his 115-game career ranked second in program history with 158 blocks, third with 802 rebounds, fourth with 312 assists and 11th with 1,459 points.
