Fravert Named To National Basketball Team Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh senior forward Adam Fravert was named to the five-member D3hoops.com Men's Basketball Team of the Week for games played Jan. 13-19.

Fravert averaged 23.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game as the Titans went 2-0 during the week and moved into a tie for first in the WIAC standings. Fravert shot a combined 55.9 percent (19-34) from the field in wins of 82-66 at UW-Eau Claire on Wednesday (Jan. 15) and 89-62 at home over UW-River Falls on Saturday (Jan. 18).

Fravert produced 28 points, six rebounds, a season-high seven assists, one steal and one block against UW-Eau Claire before compiling 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block against UW-River Falls. He went 11 of 19 from the floor against UW-Eau Claire and 8-for-15 against UW-River Falls on the way to recording his fourth double-double of the season and 18th career.

This season Fravert is pacing the Titans with 18.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.7 blocks per game, and 36 made 3-pointers. He is leading the conference in rebounds (126), blocks (27) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.88) while ranking second in the league in assists (60), third in scoring, sixth in made 3-pointers and eighth in free throw percentage (.778).

Fravert currently ranks second in UW-Oshkosh history with 141 career blocks, 11th with 673 rebounds and 18th with 1,219 points.

Joining Fravert on the D3hoops.com Team of Week were guards Jake Rhode from Elmhurst College (Ill.), Nate Schimonitz from Nebraska Wesleyan University and Tanner Youngberg from University of Northwestern (Minn.); and forward Michael Holland from Austin College (Texas). Fravert is the first Titan to be selected to the men's Team of the Week since D.J. Marsh during the 2009-10 campaign.

Fravert and UW-Oshkosh (10-6, 4-1 WIAC) are tied atop the league standings with 11th-ranked UW-Platteville (14-2, 4-1) with nine games remaining. The defending NCAA Division III and WIAC champion Titans, who have reached the national championship game the past two seasons, are attempting to win back-to-back conference titles for the first time since 1968.
