Fravert Selected To Francis Award Top 100 Watch List

UW-Oshkosh senior forward Adam Fravert has been named among 100 players on the watch list for the Bevo Francis Award, which is presented annually to the men's basketball player who has the finest overall season in the NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Fravert, a two-time All-WIAC selection, is leading the defending Division III and conference champion Titans with 18.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 blocks per game this season. Fravert is shooting 46.6 percent (97-208) from the field on the year while pacing the WIAC in rebounds (115), defensive rebounds (100) and blocks (26). He also ranks second in the conference with a 1.81 assist-to-turnover ratio and 34 made 3-pointers, third in scoring and assists per game, and eighth with a .774 free throw percentage.

Fravert was named a 2019-20 D3hoops.com Preseason All-American after being selected to the All-Tournament Team at last year's Division III Final Four as UW-Oshkosh secured its first national title with a 96-82 victory over Swarthmore College (Pa.) in the championship game.

This season Fravert has scored in double figures on 13 occasions, including a career-best 37-point effort during the Titans' 93-76 win over LaGrange College (Ga.) on Dec. 30, 30 points in an 87-80 setback at Emory University (Ga.) on Dec. 29, 28 points and a season-high seven assists during an 82-66 triumph at UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 15, and 25 points in an 88-81 loss at Alma College (Mich.) on Dec. 6.

Fravert has been UW-Oshkosh's leading scorer eight times this year and paced the squad in assists on nine occasions and in rebounding five times. He has recorded three double-doubles this season, scoring 14 points and grabbing a season-high 11 rebounds during the season opening 74-67 victory at 17th-ranked Augustana College (Ill.) on Nov. 9 before producing 18 points and 10 boards in a 96-95 overtime setback at St. Norbert College on Dec. 17, and adding 10 rebounds to go along with his 25 points at Alma College.

Fravert's season highs also include five blocks in a 64-57 setback at Carthage College on Nov. 19 and four steals against both Emory University and UW-Stout during an 83-69 Titan victory. He became UW-Oshkosh's 36th 1,000-point scorer during a 92-66 win over Lawrence University on Dec. 1 and ranks 20th in program history with 1,200 career points. He also lists second in UW-Oshkosh history with 140 career blocks and 11th with 662 career rebounds.

Fravert and the Titans (9-6, 3-1 WIAC) are currently tied atop the league standings as UW-Oshkosh seeks to win back-to-back conference championships for the first time since the 1967-68 campaign.

Fravert and UW-Stevens Point senior guard Ethan Bublitz are the only two WIAC players on the Bevo Francis watch list.

The Bevo Francis Award watch list will be pared to 50 players Feb. 15 and to 25 players on March 15. Finalists are set to be announced April 4, and the fifth winner of the Bevo Francis Award will be revealed April 6. Senior guard Aston Francis from Wheaton College (Ill.) became NCAA Division III's first Bevo Francis Award winner last season.
