Haag Named To National Football Team Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh sophomore kicker Jaydon Haag was among 22 selections to the D3football.com National Team of the Week for games played Nov. 16.

Haag converted field goals of 42 and 49 yards and all three extra points as UW-Oshkosh earned a share of the WIAC title and a berth into the NCAA Division III postseason with its 27-20 home win over nationally ranked UW-Whitewater.

After making extra points in the first and second quarters, Haag gave UW-Oshkosh a 21-20 lead with his extra point at the 9:14 mark of the fourth period.

Following a pair of interceptions by the UW-Oshkosh defense in the game's final six minutes, Haag gave the Titans leads of 24-20 and 27-20 with field goals of 42 and 49 yards, respectively.

Haag, who has made all 11 of his field goal attempts this season, also averaged 43.3 yards on three punts against third-ranked UW-Whitewater. His longest punt of the contest went for a season-best 67 yards.

Other WIAC players receiving Team of the Week recognition from games held Nov. 16 were UW-La Crosse defensive tackle Josh Dorschner and UW-Stout safety Jed Schlegel.

A total of 21 Titans have earned Team of the Week recognition since the D3football.com program debuted in 1999. UW-Oshkosh's list of honorees is led by running back Andy Moriarty, a three-time award winner (2005/Week 19, 2007/Week 9 & 2007/Week 10). Haag received Team of the Week honors for the first time.

18th-ranked UW-Oshkosh (8-2) plays 24th-ranked Central College (Iowa) (9-1) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship on Saturday (Nov. 23) in Pella, Iowa.
