Haag Named WIAC Football Athlete Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh kicker/punter Jaydon Haag earned WIAC Kwik Trip Football Athlete of the Week honors for his performance during the Titans' 27-20 victory over nationally ranked UW-Whitewater on Nov. 16 at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Haag, who was named the league's top performer on special teams for the period of Nov. 11-17, converted field goals of 42 and 49 yards and all three extra points as UW-Oshkosh earned a share of the WIAC title and a berth into the NCAA Division III postseason with its win over the third-ranked Warhawks.

After making extra points in the first and second quarters, Haag gave UW-Oshkosh a 21-20 lead with his extra point at the 9:14 mark of the fourth period.

Following a pair of interceptions by the UW-Oshkosh defense in the game's final six minutes, Haag gave the Titans leads of 24-20 and 27-20 with field goals of 42 and 49 yards, respectively.

Haag, who has made all 11 of his field goal attempts this season, also averaged 43.3 yards on three punts against UW-Whitewater. His longest punt of the contest went for a season-best 67 yards.

The WIAC also presented weekly awards to UW-River Falls quarterback Ben Beckman on offense and UW-Stout strong safety Jed Schlegel on defense.
