Mount Union To Host NCAA Sweet 16 and Elite 8 On Friday and Saturday

The University of Mount Union will host the sweet 16 and elite 8 of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship Friday and Saturday, March 10-11 at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance, Ohio.
 
Friday, March 10
# 12 Wisconsin-Oshkosh (23-6) Vs. #22 Rowan (24-5), 4:45 p.m.
#3 Mount Union (27-2) vs. #19 North Park (24-5), 7:45 p.m.
 
Saturday, March 11
First round winners, 7:45 p.m.

All tickets will be digitally sold online once available at: http://athletics.mountunion.edu/tickets
 
There will be NO cash sales at the gate
Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students
 
Each team has its designated sections
Friday's ticket gets you into both games

Tournament Notes
Mount Union is making its fifth overall and third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
The Purple Raiders earned the OAC automatic bid defeating Marietta 95-80 and are 8-3 in tournament games. Mount Union defeated Anderson 73-68 and Lancaster Bible 90-66 to adcancve to the sweet 16. This is the farthest Mount Union has ever made it in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as they have advanced to the sweet 16 four different times.
 
North Park earned the CCIW automatic bid defeating Elmhurst 83-75. North Park defeated Sewanee 88-69 and Wash U. 72-69 to advance to the sweet 16. North Park has won an NCAA Division III best five national titles in the seasons 1978-1980, 1985 and 1987.
 
Wisconsin-Oshkosh received one of the 20 bids handed out as they lost to Wisconsin-Whitewater in the WIAC Finals. They are making their 12th NCAA Tournament appearance since the current format was introduced. The Titans defeated Fontbonne (Mo.) 86-56 and Hope 51-50 to advance to the sweet 16. They are currently 22-10 in NCAA Tournament games including a National Championships in 2019 and one National Runner-Up
 
Rowan earned the NJAC automatic bid defeating Stockton 103-88 and making 15th NCAA Tournament appearance and third in the last four years. Rowan defeated Cal Lutheran 83-77 and Utica 83-72 to advance to the sweet 16. They are 32-13 in the NCAA Tournament including a National Championship 1996 and three National Runner-Ups.
