The 13th Annual Linda Slagell Volleyball Tournament recognizes Coach Slagell for all of her contributions to Millikin University and its volleyball program. In addition to honoring Coach Slagell, this year’s tournament will be joining in the battle against breast cancer. The Millikin volleyball team is joining us other Big Blue teams in October to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In thirteen years at the helm of the volleyball program, Slagell is the second all-time winningest volleyball coach at Millikin and her teams still hold several Millikin records. Slagell led the Big Blue to 20 wins in eight straight seasons from 1993 to 2000. Her 1999 team's 35-4 record still stands and the most wins and fewest losses in a season and the team also set records for kills (1,991), assists (1,795) and digs (2,690). During her career, she was named the Division III NCAA Midwest Region (1) and CCIW Volleyball Coach of the Year (3). She also led her team to three CCIW Championships and two NCAA tournament berths.
