Titans Place Second At UW-Oshkosh Open

UW-Oshkosh's Alexis Reichardt finished sixth and Ashton Keene seventh to lead the Titans at the UW-Oshkosh Women's Cross Country Open held Friday (Oct. 19) in Whitewater.

The meet was originally scheduled to be held at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, but due to poor course conditions caused by recent weather, the meet was relocated to UW-Whitewater's home facility.

UW-Oshkosh placed second in the five-team meet with 59 points, as Reichardt completed the 6,000-meter course with her sixth-place time of 24:43. Keene finished seventh for the Titans in 24:54 while Breanna Van Den Plas placed 16th in 25:36, Elizabeth Reddeman 17th in 25:43 and Tayah Cunningham 19th in 26:22.

NCAA Division II UW-Parkside recorded the lowest possible score of 15 points to easily win the team title. Amanda Johnson led the Rangers with her first-place individual time of 23:33.

UW-Parkside also had Rebecca Jasutis finish second among the meet's 47 runners with a time of 23:59, Hollie Poehler third in 24:07, Emma Meyer fourth in 24:15 and Maddy Kammerer fifth in 24:37.

UW-Stevens Point finished third in the team competition with 83 points while Robert Morris University (Ill.) place fourth with 103 and UW-Whitewater fifth with 135.

Other UW-Oshkosh individual results had Allison Chen finish 20th with a time of 26:27, Melissa Srnka 21st in 26:30, Hannah Thorn 23rd in 26:53, Erica Liesen 26th in 27:07 and Sydney Fricke 29th in 27:51.

UW-Oshkosh rested selected runners in preparation for next Saturday's (Oct. 27) WIAC Championship in Colfax. The Titans are a 10-time WIAC champion, with their most recent title in 2011.
