Titans' Run In Appleton Results In Fourth-Place Finish

UW-Oshkosh had a pair of top-seven finishers and all five scorers among the top-50 runners as it placed fourth at the Lawrence University Gene Davis Women's Cross Country Invitational held Saturday (Oct. 6) in Appleton.

Hannah Lohrenz, who finished seventh at last year's meet, placed sixth on Saturday for the Titans with a 6,000-meter time of 23:33. Lohrenz was followed by teammate Amanda Van Den Plas who finished seventh with a time of 23:37.

UW-Oshkosh compiled 112 points in the 11-team meet with the additional help of Ashton Keene, Megan Berg and Tayah Cunningham. Keene finished 33rd with a time of 25:00 while Berg placed 38th in 25:12 and Cunningham 50th in 25:49.

Led by the second-place individual finish of Emily Kraus, Carroll University captured the team title with 39 points. The Pioneers also received a fifth-place finish from Antonia Bartolotta. Kraus completed the race with a time of 23:09 and Bartolotta in a time of 23:23.

St. Norbert College ranked second in the team standings with 54 points while the Wisconsin Track Club finished third with 84. Following behind fourth-place UW-Oshkosh were fifth-place UW-Stevens Point with 133 points and sixth-place Lake Forest College (Ill.) with 168.

Unattached and former Titan runner Cheyenne Moore paced her way to the meet's individual title with a time of 23:02. Yaneli Guajardo of Lake Forest College finished third in 23:11 and Allie Levin of the Wisconsin Track Club fourth in 23:12.

The meet's 119 finishers also included UW-Oshkosh's Breanna Van Den Plas placing 54th with a time of 26:11, Melissa Srnka 59th in 26:19 and Hannah Thorn 63rd in 26:37.

UW-Oshkosh will host the Kollege Town Sports Invitational next Saturday (Oct. 13) at the Lake Breeze Golf in Winneconne.
