Titans Place Third At Davis Invitational

Led by the seventh-place individual finish of Hannah Lohrenz, UW-Oshkosh edged Wisconsin Track Club for third place in the team standings of the Gene Davis Women's Cross Country Invitational held Saturday (Oct. 7) at the Reid Golf Course in Appleton. 

UW-Oshkosh totaled 84 points by placing all five of its scorers among the top 31 runners, including Lohrenz who completed the 6,000-meter course in a time of 24:15.

Other contributors to the Titans' team score were Ashton Keene, Reece Matheson, Erica Liesen and Amanda Van Den Plas. Keene finished 13th among the meet's 73 runners with a time of 24:52 while Matheson listed 19th in 25:19, Liesen 20th in 25:23 and Van Den Plas 31st in 26:10.

UW-River Falls swept the top three individual rankings to win the seven-team meet with 32 points. The Falcons were followed by second-place St. Norbert College with 49 points, UW-Oshkosh, fourth-place Wisconsin Track Club with 86 and fifth-place and host Lawrence University with 97.

Abigail Fouts of UW-River Falls won the individual title with a time of 22:49. She was followed by teammates Linsey Tolkkinsen and Nikki Jurik who placed second and third with times of 23:18 and 23:43, respectively.

Hannah Kinzer of Lawrence University finished fourth with a time of 23:55 and Gretchen Price of St. Norbert College fifth in 24:08.

Other UW-Oshkosh participants at the meet were Jessica Stamn, Tayah Cunningham, Lexus Brown and Melissa Srnka. Stamn placed 35th with a time of 26:33 while Cunningham finished 36th in 26:29, Brown 38th in 26:35 and Srnka 41st in 26:47.

UW-Oshkosh will host the Kollege Town Sports Invitational – one of the premiere NCAA Division III meets in the country – next Saturday (Oct. 14) at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.
