Titans Place First at UW-Oshkosh Open

The UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team placed first out of four teams at the UW-Oshkosh Open held on Friday (Oct. 24) at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.

The Titans scored 25 points, good for first place.  Behind them in second was UW-Stevens Point with 64, in third UW-Whitewater with 67, and in fourth UW-Platteville with 99.

The Titans had 20 competitors and eleven finished in the top-15 out of 58 total competitors.  The first seven finishers for Oshkosh were Kylee Verhasselt in third with a time of 23:28, Sonny Jenkins fourth in 23:40, Hannah Kuenzi fifth in 23:53, Cheyenne Moore sixth in 24:18. Rhea Fiorita seventh in 24:23, Leah Rendflesh eighth in 24:27, and Michaela Welsh ninth in 24:38.

The meets top finisher was Danielle Kunkel of UW-Platteville who finished the 6,000 meter course in 22:57.  In second was Amy Kahl of UW-Whitewater in a time of 23:33.

Also competing for the Titans was Courtney Holland, Tess Harvatine, Danica Harrison, Betsy Gray, Alex Mahoney, Isabella Tremonti, Michelle Draxler, Jessi Stamn, Katya Wick, Cammy Garvelink, Kimmy Figueroa, Taylor Pralle, and Taylor Lindblad.

Holland finished tenth in 24:27, Harvatine eleventh in 24:40, Harrison twelfth in 24:42, Gray fifteenth in 24:58, Mahoney eighteenth in 25:16, Tremonti twentieth in 25:38, Draxler twenty-first in 25:41, Stamn twenty-third in 25:59, Wick twenty-fifth in 26:04, Garvelink twenty-seventh in 26:14, Figueroa thirty-third in 26:36, Pralle forty-third in 28:14, and Lindbald forty-fourth in 28:21.

The next meet for UW-Oshkosh is the WIAC Championship at Ettrick on Nov.
