Titans Finish Second At UW-Oshkosh Open

The UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team finished strong to take second place at the UW-Oshkosh Open on Friday (Oct. 25) at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.

The Titans finished with a score of 59 points, behind only the University of Wisconsin, who scored 15.

11 of the top 14 finishers were Badgers, including the first eight to cross the finish line.

The top finisher for the Titans was Sonny Jenkins in 18th place with a time of 24:26. Erica Munyan finished in 24:55 to take 20th and was followed by Kylee Verhasselt (25:04), Danica Harrison (25:06) and Kate Brooks (25:22) in the next three places.

Gabrhael Walman (25:26), Morgan Engelhart (25:37), Leah Rendflesh (25:38), Kristin Linzmeier (25:40) and Kendal Wormuth (25:40) also finished in the top 30 for UW-Oshkosh.

UW-Madison's Lavina Jurkiewicz won the indivisual event with a time of 21:42. She was followed by teammates Ariel Michalek (21:44), Kassidy Clark (22:01), Dana Steffen (22:12) and Colleen McNulty (22:12).

UW-Stevens Point finished behind UW-Madison and UW-Oshkosh in third place with a score of 68.

The next event for the Titans is the WIAC Championship on Nov. 2 in River Falls.
