Titans Earn AVCA Team Academic Award

The UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball team was recognized for its academic success by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the second straight year.

UW-Oshkosh compiled a 3.59 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) during the 2018-19 school year to earn one of the 175 NCAA Division III Team Academic Awards.

The AVCA Team Academic Award was initiated during the 1992-93 academic year. The award honors collegiate volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by achieving at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year.

UW-Oshkosh had 11 of its 17 team members surpass a 3.50 GPA this past academic year, including senior Katie Hodges and freshman Emma Kiekhofer who recorded perfect figures of 4.00. Senior Carly Lemke compiled a 3.91 GPA this past academic year.

In addition to UW-Oshkosh, other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schools receiving the 2018-19 AVCA Team Academic Award were UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Stout and UW-Whitewater.
