WIAC Volleyball Teams “Playing For A Cause”

UW-Oshkosh and the seven other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women's volleyball programs will participate in a "Playing For A Cause" campaign at one of their home matches during the 2018 season.

This marks the 11th consecutive season that the WIAC has conducted the league-wide event for women's volleyball.

Each WIAC women's volleyball program has selected a "cause" they will support and bring awareness to during a selected home contest.

Below are the eight matches that will have the "Playing For A Cause" theme:
Sept. 29 • UW-Platteville at UW-Stevens Point (Attacking Alzheimer's)

Oct. 3 • Saint Mary's University (Minn.) at UW-Stout (Breast Cancer Awareness)

Oct. 9 • UW-Whitewater at UW-Platteville (Ocean Cleanup)

Oct. 10 • UW-La Crosse at UW-Eau Claire (Breast Cancer Awareness)
Oct. 10 • UW-Stevens Point at UW-Oshkosh (Dig Pink)
Oct. 10 • UW-Stout at UW-River Falls (Rhizo Kids International)
Oct. 10 • Carroll University at UW-Whitewater (Breast Cancer Awareness)

Oct. 12 • UW-Platteville at UW-La Crosse (Alzheimer's Awareness)

Last year, UW-Oshkosh hosted UW-River Falls in its "Playing For A Cause" match. The Titans' cause was for the Side-Out Foundation. In 2016, UW-Oshkosh hosted UW-Stevens Point and the cause was for cancer awareness.

Over the past 10 years, WIAC women's volleyball teams have combined to contribute $175,867 toward special "causes."
