Titans Sweep WIAC Volleyball Player Of The Week Awards

UW-Oshkosh outside hitter Tina Elstner and middle blocker Carly Lemke were named WIAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week award winners following their performances in matches held Oct. 16-22.

Elstner was selected as the conference's top offensive player and Lemke as the league's best defensive performer. Together, they helped UW-Oshkosh go unbeaten in four contests, including a 3-1 victory over nationally ranked University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Oct. 21.

Elstner had a team-leading 42 kills to go along with 30 digs, nine blocks and four service aces during UW-Oshkosh's four matches. She recorded a match-best 14 kills on .300 hitting with nine digs and two service aces in the Titans' win over University of Northwestern, ranked ninth in the NCAA Division III by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Elstner also compiled 14 kills and 12 digs in four sets against Carthage College on Oct. 20, 12 kills on .312 hitting in three sets against Lakeland University on Oct. 18, and two kills in three sets against Bates College (Maine) on Oct. 21.

Lemke recorded 19 blocks in the Titans' four contests while hitting .267 with 27 kills, seven digs and four service aces. She had a match-high six blocks with 10 kills on .300 hitting and during the Titans' win over University of Northwestern.

Lemke also had a match-best seven blocks with six kills on .333 hitting and in three sets against Bates College, two blocks with seven kills in three sets against Lakeland University, and four blocks, four kills, four service aces and four digs in four sets against Carthage College.
