Trochinski Named WIAC Volleyball Player Of The Week

The WIAC has selected UW-Oshkosh outside hitter Laura Trochinski as its Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. The award was for matches held Sept. 8-14.

Trochinski hit .302 with 56 kills, 57 digs, six service aces, five blocks and four assists as UW-Oshkosh won all six of its contests during the week to remain unbeaten on the season. The Titans own a 12-0 record for their best start to a season since 2009.

During 3-0 wins over both Lakeland College and Carroll University on Sept. 10, Trochinski totaled 12 kills and 18 digs in four sets played.

Competing at the UW-Oshkosh Pizza Hut Classic on Sept. 12-13, Trochinski was named to the all-tournament team after hitting .343 with 44 kills and 39 digs.

She had 16 kills and 12 digs during the Titans' 3-0 win over Concordia University Wisconsin on Sept. 12 and 13 kills and 12 digs during UW-Oshkosh's 3-1 victory over Ripon College on Sept. 13.

UW-Stevens Point defensive specialist Hannah Picek was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week.
