Titans Go Unbeaten At Loras College Invitational

Katelyn Malcheski was named to the All-Tournament Team as the UW-Oshkosh volleyball team improved its record to 19-8 after sweeping all four matches at the Loras College Invitational on Oct. 18-19 in Dubuque, Iowa.

The Titans defeated Clarke University (Iowa) and William Penn University (Iowa) on Friday before knocking off Loras College (Iowa) and Luther College (Iowa) on Saturday.

UW-Oshkosh beat Clarke in four sets, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22 and 25-23.

Alexis Thiel and Alison Tomczyk had 16 assists, and Malcheski led the Titans with 18 kills. Mandy Trautmann marked 22 digs for UW-Oshkosh. The Titans outhit the Crusaders .238 to .158 for the match.

In Friday's second contest, UW-Oshkosh swept William Penn, 25-19, 26-24 and 25-19.

Malcheski topped the Titans with 14 kills, while Thiel added another 16 assists to the stat sheet. Trautmann scooped 16 balls versus the Statesmen. UW-Oshkosh hit .302 to William Penn's .146.

The Titans knocked off Loras in five sets, 25-19, 21-25, 22-25, 25-19 and 15-10.

Malcheski notched 15 more kills for UW-Oshkosh. Thiel booked 25 assists, and the Titans got 21 more assists from Tomczyk. Danielle Stoppenbach led the team with 23 digs. The Titans outhit the Duhawks .168 to .116 for the match.

In their final challenge of the invite, the Titans took out Luther in three sets, 25-10, 25-23 and 25-18.

Jessica Fischer had 14 kills to lead UW-Oshkosh's offense. Tomczyk and Thiel compiled 17 and 16 assists, respectively. Stoppenbach made 12 digs on the defensive side. The Titans hit .393 for their second-best rate of the year.

UW-Oshkosh has a pair of conference games on Oct. 23 and 26 against UW-La Crosse and UW-Eau Claire. The Titans will travel to La Crosse before facing the Blugolds at home.
