Titans Have A Pair Of Event Winners At UW-Platteville Invitational

UW-Oshkosh's Lauren Wrensch and Alexandria Steger were event winners as the Titans competed at the UW-Platteville Women's Track & Field Invitational Saturday (April 13) in Platteville.

The non-scoring meet featured competitors from nearly 15 collegiate programs.

Wrensch leaped to a measurement of 18-11 3/4 in the long jump to defeat 43 other participants, including UW-Eau Claire's Ashley Agrimson who finished second with a distance of 18-5. Wensch, who owns this season's best NCAA Division III mark in the long jump at 19-4, is the only person in the division to have two measurements of 18-11 or better.

Wrensch also added a third-place time of 25.76 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Alison Beeman of the University of Dubuque (Iowa) won the race of 66 runners with a time of 24.80 seconds while Savannah Rygiewicz of UW-La Crosse placed second in 25.19.

Steger recorded this season's 14th-best Division III measurement in the javelin with her winning mark of 133-2. The event featured 45 performers, including UW-Stevens Point's Alex Grubbs who finished a distant second with a throw of 117-10.

UW-Oshkosh's lone second-place finisher was Mikaela Zolecki in the hammer throw. Zolecki earned this season's 18th-best Division III performance in the hammer throw with her cast of 166-1. UW-Stout's Morgan Denton won the event of 59 competitors with a measurement of 172-10.

The Titans' Taylor Pralle contributed an eighth-place time of 12.62 seconds in the 100-meter dash.

In the 400-meter relay, UW-Oshkosh's quartet of Pralle, Wrensch, Morgan Endries and Kiley Lynch-Youngman combined for a seventh-place time of 50.74 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh will compete this Thursday (April 18) and Friday (April 19) at the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge.
