WIAC Track & Field Weekly Awards Swept By Titans' Noone, Wrensch

The first edition of the WIAC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards for the 2018-19 season was a UW-Oshkosh sweep as Evlyn Noone and Lauren Wrensch were recognized for their efforts in meets held Nov. 26 - Dec. 3.

Noone was named the league's Track Athlete of the Week while Wrensch was selected as the conference's Field Athlete of the Week.

Noone won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:50.67 at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational held Dec. 1 and the 3,000-meter run with a performance of 10:18.21 at the Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Holiday Invitational held Dec. 7.

Wrensch won two events at both the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational and the Olivet Nazarene University Holiday Invitational. Wrensch leaped to a nation-leading measurement of 19-3 1/4 in the long jump at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational to surpass the previous records of 18-10 for UW-Oshkosh and 19-1 1/4 for Kolf Sports Center. Wrensch earned her other event title at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational with a time of 25.60 seconds in the 200-meter dash. She also ran to a time of 7.93 seconds in the preliminary of the 60-meter dash but elected not to participate in the final.

Competing at the Olivet Nazarene University Holiday Invitational, Wrensch won the long jump with a distance of 19-2 1/2 and the 200-meter dash with her time of 25.63 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh scored 211.5 points to defeat six other teams at its own Early Bird Invitational, including Carroll University, which finished second with 122 points, and Concordia University Wisconsin, which listed third with 47.

No team scores were kept at the Olivet Nazarene University Holiday Invitational.
