Reichenberger Runs To All-America Status At NCAA Indoor Championships

UW-Oshkosh senior Emily Reichenberger ran to her third All-America award, including her second in the 60-meter dash, at the NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships held Friday and Saturday (March 9-10) in Birmingham, Ala.

Reichenberger placed sixth among the 17 national qualifiers in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.73 seconds. Wadeline Jonathas of University of Massachusetts at Boston won the race with a meet-record time of 7.41 seconds while Quinn Harlan of Roanoke College (Va.) finished second at 7.52.

Reichenberger, who was seeded 12th for this year's 60-meter dash, previously earned All-America honors with her sixth-place finish in the event at the 2017 championships.

Reichenberger also represented the Titans in the 200-meter dash at this year's championships. She placed ninth in the event of 17 sprinters with a time of 25.20 seconds and missed qualifying for the finals by less than one-tenth of a second as Katie Murray of the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) captured the eighth and final advancement spot at 25.09. Jonathas won the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.07 seconds while Karmin Shute of Birmingham-Southern College (Ala.) ranked second at 24.64.

Reichenberger previously finished eighth in the 200-meter dash at the 2016 championships, 12th in 2017 and 10th in 2015. The top eight finishers in each event at the national championships earn All-America recognition.

Junior Cheyenne Moore also represented the Titans in a pair of events at this year's championships. She placed 10th in the 3,000- and 13th in the 5,000-meter runs with times of 9:47.20 and 17:19.83, respectively. Moore finished 14th in the 5,000-meter run at last year's meet and was competing in the 3,000-meter run at nationals for the first time.

Emily Bryson of Brandeis University (Mass.) won this year's 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:33.99 while Bryn McKillop of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Calif.) finished second in 9:39.04.

Brittany Bowman of Tufts University (Mass.) placed first in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:31.32 while Taryn Cordani of Ithaca College (N.Y.) finished second in 16:36.83.

UW-Oshkosh had a pair of field competitors in Alabama as first-time qualifiers Lauren Wrensch and Cara Volz performed in the long and triple jumps, respectively. Wrensch, a junior, leaped to a distance of 17-9 1/2 and Volz, a sophomore, to a mark of 36-10 1/2.

Jonathas won the long jump with a measurement of 19-6 while Amelia Glueck of Illinois Wesleyan University ranked second at 18-11 3/4. In the triple jump, Amber Edwards took first place with a distance of 41-1 and Sally Ceesay of Bates College (Maine) second at 40-4.

UW-Oshkosh, which owns a division-leading nine indoor track & field titles, placed 50th among the 66 programs that scored at this year's championships with three points.

University of Massachusetts at Boston captured this year's team title with 46 points while Williams College (Mass.) finished second with 37, Ohio Northern University third with 30 and Nebraska Wesleyan University, UW-Eau Claire and defending champion Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) all fourth with 27.
