Moore Receives WIAC Track Athlete Of The Week Award

The WIAC selected UW-Oshkosh's Cheyenne Moore as one of its two Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week award winners for meets held Jan. 29 - Feb. 4.

Moore, the conference's top track performer, recorded the seventh-fastest 3,000-meter run time in the NCAA Division III with her winning performance at UW-Stevens Point's Pointer Invitational held Feb. 3.

Moore defeated 15 other participants in the 3,000-meter run with her time of 9:56.53. Her effort was converted to a time of 9:51.46 as the national championship running events are being held on a banked track this season. Kameron Burmeister of NCAA Division II Northern Michigan University finished second to Moore with a time of 9:58.95.

UW-Oshkosh placed second in the seven-team meet with 126 points. Northern Michigan University captured the team title with 143 points while UW-Eau Claire finished third with 116.5.

Erica Oawster of UW-Eau Claire was named the WIAC's Field Athlete of the Week.
