Titans Defeat Red Hawks In Dual Meet

Karina Marchan, Lauren Wrensch and Mikaela Zolecki all won one event while finishing second in another to help the UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team defeat Ripon College, 113-26, on Saturday (Jan. 13) in Kolf Sports Center.

Marchan captured first place in the triple jump with a distance of 37-4 and second place in the long jump with a measurement of 17-5 1/4. Her effort in the triple jump ranks as the fifth best in the NCAA Division III this season.

Wrensch won the long jump with a mark of 18-0 1/4 while finishing second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.83 seconds. 

Zolecki was the winner in the 20-pound weight throw with a distance of 50-2 3/4 and the runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 37-1 3/4.

The Titans won 12 of the 14 events, including the 200-meter dash, pole vault, shot put and 20-pound weight throw where they captured the top three listings.

UW-Oshkosh's Taylor Pralle won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.57 seconds while Wrensch finished second and Sie'anna Mitchell third in 26.96 seconds.

In the pole vault, Titan Megan Leahy won the event with a height of 10-11 1/2 while Sydney Rau placed second at 9-5 3/4 and Theresa Richards third at 8-6.

The shot put featured UW-Oshkosh's Kahley Logan winning event with a measurement of 39-1. She was followed by Zolecki in second place and Taya Fleischman in third place with a mark of 35-11 3/4.

Zolecki took first place in the 20-pound weight throw while UW-Oshkosh teammates Ellie Infante and Logan finished second and third with distances of 49-0 3/4 and 42-8 1/4, respectively.

Other event winners for the Titans were Emily Reichenberger in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.98 seconds, Erica Lorenz in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:04.92, Amanda Van Den Plas in the mile run with a time of 5:46.66, Ashton Keene in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:02.54 and Jenna Trione in the high jump with a height of 4-8 1/4.

Extra second-place finishers for UW-Oshkosh were Olivia Seeley in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.00 seconds, Sadie Huth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.38 seconds, Rachel Powers in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:05.22, Melissa Srnka in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.71 and Jessica Stamn in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:50.38.

UW-Oshkosh's Cara Volz placed third in a pair of events, the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.03 seconds and triple jump with a mark of 35-0 1/2.

The Titans' Breanna Van Den Plas added a third-place time of 2:37.02 in the 800-meter run.

In the relays, UW-Oshkosh swept the top two places at 1,600 meters. Lorenz, Srnka, Lindsay Denu and Morgan Endries won the race with a time of 4:14.57 while Huth, Powers, Pralle and Breanna Van Den Plas finished second in 4:21.35.

UW-Oshkosh participate at the Cardinal Opener on Friday (Jan. 19) in Naperville, Ill.
