Titans Collect Both WIAC Track & Field Weekly Awards

Outstanding performances by Karina Marchan and Taylor Pralle gave UW-Oshkosh a sweep of the WIAC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards for meets held Nov. 27 - Dec. 3.

Marchan was named the conference's best competitor in the field events while Pralle was chosen as the league's top performer on the track. Their efforts helped the Titans capture first place at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational held Dec. 2 in Kolf Sports Center.

Marchan took first place in the long jump with a leap of 18-0 1/2 and second place in the triple jump with a distance of 35-5 1/4. Her effort in the long jump ranks fifth in the NCAA Division III this season.

Pralle earned the second-best mark in the NCAA Division III with her winning time of 59.47 seconds in the 400-meter run. She also ran on UW-Oshkosh's 1,600-meter relay team that posted a first-place time of 4:11.18.

UW-Oshkosh scored 203 points to win the team title by 104 points over second-place Carroll University. The Pioneers had 99 points and were followed by third-place Concordia University Wisconsin with 93 and fourth-place Elmhurst College (Ill.) with 67.
