Volz, Wrensch Multiple Placewinners At UW-Platteville Invitational

Cara Volz finished third in a pair of events to lead UW-Oshkosh at the UW-Platteville Women's Track & Field Invitational held Thursday and Friday (April 13-14).

Volz earned her third-place listings by running to a time of 15.16 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and skipping to a measurement of 36-9 3/4 in the triple jump.

Elizabeth Abhold recorded the Titans' highest finish with second-place distance of 170-7 in the hammer throw. Abhold's toss is the 13th-best in the NCAA Division III this season.

UW-Oshkosh's Lauren Wrensch contributed a pair of top-eight finishes with her third-place leap of 17-9 in the long jump and eighth-place time of 25.92 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

The Titans' Alexandria Steger finished third in the javelin with a mark of 108-9 while Michelle Draxler placed fourth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:01.47, Alyssa Ryan fifth in the pole vault with a height of 10-10 and Susanna Roberts seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.99 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh received three other eighth-place finishes as Ellie Infante recorded a distance of 147-4 in the hammer throw, Karina Marchan a mark of 17-4 3/4 in the long jump and Isabella Samuels a measurement of 42-5 1/2 in the shot put.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

UW-Oshkosh will participate at the Phil Esten Challenge next Thursday and Friday (April 20-21) in La Crosse.
