Loew, Strupp Lead Titans In Madison

Breanna Strupp (Sr. • Slinger) posted the third-best shot put in NCAA Division III history during UW-Oshkosh's NCAA Qualifier meets in Madison and Stevens Point on Friday and Saturday (March 1-2).

At the Madison meet, Strupp launched a shot put of 52-1.75 for the nation's longest this year. She finished third in the event behind Wisconsin's Kelsey Card (55-3.5) and Taylor Smith (53-1.75). The Titans also had Abby Martin (Jr. • Chilton) place fourth at 46-10.75.

Titans finished 1-2-3 in the weight throw. Samantha Loew (Sr. • Burnett) triumphed with a toss of 59-2.75, as Melanie Brickner (So. • Marathon) earned second at 58-8.5 and Strupp third at 56-4.5.

The jumping results had Kasey Ederer (Fr. • Kaukauna) placing second with her high jump of 5-4.25 and Samantha Blue (So. • Kimberly) taking fourth in the long jump at 17-8.75.

Taylor Bauer (Fr. • Fort Atkinson) delivered the notable performance at Stevens Point, listing sixth in the 800-meter run at 2:17.63.

UW-Oshkosh, ranked first in the country, sends its top athletes to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship next weekend (March 8-9) in Naperville, Ill.
