Titans Have Little Trouble With Green Knights

UW-Oshkosh gained energy by sweeping all three doubles contests and cruised to an 8-1 victory over St. Norbert College on Sunday (Sept. 10) in Green Bay.

Titans Hannah Peters and Bailey Sagen won at No. 1 doubles with their 8-4 decision over Sofie Koppmann and Meg Witt while teammates Samantha Koppa and Alyssa Leffler won at No. 2 doubles with their 8-2 result over Lauren Paulson and Jordyn Lawatsch.

UW-Oshkosh (2-1) completed its sweep of the doubles matches with an 8-6 win from Kelley Hodyl and Lesley Kutnink in the third flight. The Titan duo defeated Stephanie Doerfert and Claire Hetzel. 

In the singles portion of the match, UW-Oshkosh's Leffler won in the second flight, Peters in the third, Koppa in the fourth, Kutnink in the fifth and Hodyl in the sixth. 

Leffler and Peters both worked overtime to earn wins as Leffler defeated Witt, 6-3, 3-6 (10-7), while Peters ousted Paulson, 6-4, 4-6 (10-2). 

Koppa was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over Hetzel, Kutnink a 6-0, 6-3 victor over Koppmann and Hodyl a 6-2, 6-2 conqueror over Doerfert. 

St. Norbert College (4-2), which has lost 17 of its last 24 matches to the Titans, earned its lone team point on Lawatsch's 6-0, 6-0 victory over Sagen at No. 1 singles. 

UW-Oshkosh returns home to host Ripon College on Tuesday (Sept. 12) at the Kolf Sports Center Complex.
