Titans Conquer Warriors
UW-Oshkosh spent little time on the court as it defeated the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team, 7-0, on Saturday (April 11) at the Oshkosh YMCA Tennis Center.
The Titans (8-11) lost only eight of 68 games in singles play and just one of 13 games in doubles action. Contests at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles were not played.
UW-Oshkosh's Bailey Sagen took the No. 1 singles contest with her 6-1, 6-2 victory over Paige Potaracke. Sagen also teamed with Paige Ganser to record an 8-0 win over Emily Boyd and Tabitha Schultz at No. 2 doubles.
Jessica DeGroot and Llora Waldman gave UW-Oshkosh a win at No. 1 doubles with their 8-1 victory over Potaracke and Kalyn Geddes. DeGroot also defeated Geddes by a 6-0, 6-1 result at No. 2 singles.
Other individual winners for the Titans were Waldman in the third flight, Jessica Stark in the fourth and Hannah Nauth in the fifth.
Waldman defeated Schultz, 6-0, 6-0, while Stark ousted Boyd, 6-1, 6-2. Nauth tallied a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Emily Goetz.
Wisconsin Lutheran College falls to 5-9 with the loss.
UW-Oshkosh is off until it plays Edgewood College and North Park University (Ill.) on April 19 in Madison.
