The UW-Oshkosh women's tennis team lost a 9-0 decision to Augustana College (Ill.) on Sunday (Sept. 7) in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Augustana College (6-1) started its victory march by winning 24 of its 32 games in doubles play. The closest match was in the second flight, where the Vikings' Vicki Andonova and Mollie Magee defeated Hannah Bostwick and Brianna Theobald, 8-5.

Sisters Dana Goggin and Lauren Goggin were victorious in the first flight and Chelsea  Lavin and Miranda Pence in the third for Augustana College. The Goggin tandem defeated Bailey Sagen and Erica Van Riper, 8-2, while Lavin and Pence ousted Maggie Bolton and Llora Waldman, 8-1.

Augustana College won the top five singles flights by a combined game score of 60-6. In the sixth flight, Bostwick came up short in a 3-6, 6-4 (10-7) loss to Lauren Kaczmarek.

Vikings winning by 6-0, 6-0 scores were Lauren Goggin over Van Riper in the first flight and Magee over Waldman in the third. Victories of 6-1, 6-0 went to Pence over Jessica Stark in the fourth flight and Rachel Kammerzelt over Paige Ganser in the fifth.

Dana Goggin marked a 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Sagen at No. 2 singles.

UW-Oshkosh (0-4) hosts UW-La Crosse on Friday (Sept. 12) in its home opener at the Oshkosh YMCA Tennis Center.
