Titans Drop Dual Meet to Firebirds
OSHKOSH, Wis.—The Titans claimed five first place finishes as the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's swimming and diving team fell to Carthage College, 170-91.
Francesca Schiro took the top spot in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.34. Cadence Showalter claimed a third-place finish in the race, timing in at 26.70.
Showalter and Brianna Wesenberg went 1-2 in the 400 IM with times of 4:55.62 and 5:19.58.
Schiro took second in the 100 breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:13.72.
Brianna Smith clocked in at 11:43.70 in the 1000 freestyle, taking second place for the Titans. Smith would take second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:44.98.
In the 200 freestyle, Wesenberg finished in third place with a time of 2:08.57.
Grace Fergus took to the pool in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 1:07.30. Fergus claimed second place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:05.72.
Showalter, Schiro, Wesenberg, Smith teamed up for a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay, timing in at 1:58.33. In the 200 freestyle relay, Schiro, Showalter, Smith, and Wesenberg clocked in a 1:45.08 for a top finish.
In the diving well, Abbi Priestley led the way with a score of 234.20 on the 1-meter boards. Maya Indiraraj scored a 200.10 while Lexi Johnson scored 161.55 in the event. Priestley recorded a score of 263.55 on the 3-meter boards while Indiriraj scored 204.05 to go 1-2 in the event. Johnson recorded a season best dive score on the 1-meter boards.
