Titans Rout Buccaneers With Wins In All 13 Events

UW-Oshkosh won all 13 events in registering a convincing 180-31 victory over the Beloit College women's swimming & diving team on Friday (Jan. 31) in Albee Hall.

Sydney Challoner, Mariah Marowsky and Danielle Tesky were all winners in two individual events for the Titans.

Challoner swam to winning times of 1:13.54 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 5:00.78 in the 400-yard individual medley while helping Rebecca Birriel, Alyssa Hassel and Jennifer Lutz post a first-place time of 4:20.27 in the 400-yard medley relay.

Marowsky won the 100- and 1,650-yard freestyles with times of 54.79 seconds and 18:04.17, respectively, while collaborating with Paige Betthauser, Hannah Cunningham, and Rachel Jaworski for a victorious time of 4:02.22 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Tesky earned her first-place places with diving score of 205.12 off the 1-meter board and 202.80 off the 3-meter plank.

Betthauser won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:56.73 and finished third in the 1,650-yard freestyle at 20:08.67 while Cunningham won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.27 seconds and placed second in the 100-yard freestyle at 58.81.

The Titans also had Jaworski win the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:07.65 and finish third in the 100-yard freestyle at 59.70 seconds, Lutz win the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:20.70 and place second in the 1,650-yard freestyle at 18:39.88, and Emma Wilcher win the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:43.13.

Two Titans, Birriel and Allison Wucak, both contributed a pair of second-place finishes. Birriel swam to times of 1:15.62 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 5:07.05 in the 400-yard individual medley while Wucak dove to scores of 174.90 in the 1- and 171.30 in the 3-meter diving.

UW-Oshkosh's Brianna Beseler finished second in the 500-yard freestyle and third in the 200-yard freestyle with times of 6:06.92 and 2:17.65, respectively, while joining Wilcher, Cortney Claypool and Lexi Gray for a second-place swim of 4:34.49 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Claypool also added a second-place time of 2:16.76 in the 200-yard freestyle and a third-place time of 2:34.88 in the 200-yard backstroke.

Completing UW-Oshkosh's third-place listings were the times of 1:18.30 in the 100-yard breaststroke from Hassel, 6:10.97 in the 500-yard freestyle from Gray and 33.41 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle from Leah Perreault.

Finishing fourth for the Titans were Gray and Hassel with their times of 20:18.67 in the 1,650-yard freestyle and 5:24.79 in the 400-yard individual medley, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh will send its swimmers to Ripon College for a dual meet and its divers to the University of Illinois at Chicago for an invitational on Saturday (Feb. 1).
