Titans Win All But One Event In Victory Over Green Knights

Paige Betthauser, Sydney Challoner, Hannah Cunningham and Danielle Tesky each claimed a pair of victories to help the UW-Oshkosh's women's swimming & diving team defeat St. Norbert College, 152-75, on Saturday (Jan. 11) in Albee Hall.

Betthauser won the 500- and 1,650-yard freestyles with times of 5:54.22 and 20:13.39, respectively, while Cunningham recorded winning times of 25.75 seconds in the 50- and 56.81 seconds in the 100-yard freestyles.

Challoner took first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:16.03 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a swim of 2:33.86 while Tesky dove to a pair of wins with her scores of 192.97 off the 1-meter board and 186.37 off the 3-meter plank.

UW-Oshkosh also received winning performances of 2:07.59 in the 200-yard freestyle from Rachel Jaworski and 2:20.17 in 200-yard backstroke from Jennifer Lutz

The Titans won both relays as Betthauser, Jaworski, Brianna Beseler and Cortney Claypool combined for a time of 4:06.03 in the 400-yard freestyle while Challoner, Cunningham, Lutz and Alyssa Hassel worked together for a time of 4:14.62 in the 400-yard medley.

UW-Oshkosh's six second-place listings included scores of 160.05 in the 1- and 169.87 in the 3-meter diving by Allison Wucak.

Other second-place results belonged to Beseler in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 21:03.31, Hassel in the 400-yard individual medley at 5:16.52, Jaworski in the 100-yard freestyle at 58.89 seconds and Lutz in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:21.90.

Claypool, Hassel and Lexi Gray all earned third-place finishes for the Titans. Claypool registered a time of 2:28.77 in the 200-yard backstroke while Hassel went 2:47.93 in the 200-yard breaststroke and Gray 21:16.40 in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

The Titans' top-four mentions concluded with the fourth-place times of 6:11.99 in the 500-yard freestyle by Beseler and 2:46.67 in the 200-yard butterfly by Emma Wilcher.

St. Norbert College's lone victory in the 13-event meet was in the 400-yard individual medley.

UW-Oshkosh performs at UW-La Crosse next Saturday (Jan. 18).
