Challoner Named WIAC Swimmer Of The Week

The WIAC selected UW-Oshkosh's Sydney Challoner as its Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for meets held Jan. 7-13.

Challoner won two events and swam on a first-place relay team as UW-Oshkosh defeated Beloit and St. Norbert colleges in a triangular held Jan. 12 in Beloit.

Challoner won the 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard butterfly with times of 1:12.98 and 1:01.97, respectively. She also assisted Rebecca Birriel, Alyssa Hassel and Jennifer Lutz in recording a winning time of 4:20.45 in the 400-yard medley relay.

UW-Oshkosh scored 106 points and won eight events overall. St. Norbert College finished second to the Titans with 59 points and Beloit College third with 39.

UW-La Crosse's Elizabeth Konkel was chosen as the WIAC's Women's Diver of the Week.

The WIAC earlier named Challoner as its Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for meets held Oct. 8-14.
