Titans Close Home Schedule With Rout Of Red Hawks

Britney Hilgendorf won a pair of freestyle events to lead the UW-Oshkosh women's swimming & diving team to an easy 125-54 victory over Ripon College on Saturday (Feb. 7) in Albee Hall.

Hilgendorf swam to winning freestyle times of 56.86 seconds at 100 yards and 19:06.97 at 1,650.

The Titans had five other swimmers win one event apiece, including Katie Challoner who captured 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 32.19 seconds. Challoner also placed third in the 50-yard butterfly and 100-yard individual medley with times of 30.47 seconds and 1:06.91, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh's Alison Panske won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.78 seconds, while Carissa Priebusch took the 200-yard freestyle in 2:09.81, Laura Sullivan the 500-yard freestyle in 5:53.18 and Taylor Teske the 50-yard backstroke in 29.18 seconds.

The Titans won the 200-yard freestyle relay as Priebusch, Kara Atwood, Paige Burgess and Davi Ruckdashel marked a time of 1:54.22. Burgess also placed second in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events with times of 2:15.97 and 5:55.85, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh's other second-place finishers were McKinzie Halkola in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 29.88 seconds, Casey Houts in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a mark of 19:35.88, Katie Kubisiak in the 50-yard breaststroke with a performance of 32.98 seconds and Madeline Langlotz in the 100-yard freestyle with an effort of 59.60 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh took second place in the 200-yard medley relay as Houts, Sara Keller, Elizabeth Kelly and Carolyn Patt registered a time of 2:09.00.

The Titans had five third-place finishes, including Janelle Sharpee's efforts of 28.53 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle and 19:45.22 in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

Other third-place finishes went to Atwood in the 500-yard freestyle at 6:21.69, Panske in the 50-yard backstroke at 33.68 seconds and Sullivan in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:16.37.

UW-Oshkosh is off until it participates at the WIAC Championship on Feb. 19-21 at the Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer.
