Titans Outscored By Visiting Vikings

UW-Oshkosh won five events, including a pair by Sally Hesby, during its 129-105 loss to the Lawrence University women's swimming & diving team on Friday (Dec. 12) in Albee Hall.

Hesby captured both diving events, totaling first-place values of 246.30 off the 1-meter board and 236.40 off the 3-meter plank. UW-Oshkosh's Colleen Barnstable finished second to Hesby in both categories, compiling scores of 158.40 in the 1-meter division and 142.43 in the 3.

Other event winners for the Titans were Britney Hilgendorf, Laura Sullivan and Taylor Teske.

Hilgendorf posted a time of 25.89 in the 50-yard freestyle, while Sullivan notched a school-record mark of 2:12.50 in the 200-yard individual medley. Teske swam to a 100-yard backstroke time of 1:03.93.

UW-Oshkosh's Katie Challoner was involved in a pair of second-place performances. After helping Teske, Sarah Gee and McKinzie Halkola establish a time of 1:58.84 in the 200-yard medley relay, she recorded an individual time of 1:06.28 in the 100-yard butterfly.

The Titans also received second-place times of 5:53.00 from Janelle Sharpee in the 500-yard freestyle and 1:47.40 from their 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hilgendorf, Abigail Langlotz, Madeline Langlotz and Carissa Priebusch.

UW-Oshkosh finished third in five events, including the 100- and 200-yard freestyle races where Madeline Langlotz and Abigail Langlotz recorded times of 58.72 and 2:07.53, respectively.

Also taking third place for the Titans were Halkola in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:09.18, Priebusch in the 100-yard breaststroke with an effort of 1:19.00 and Leah Wicklund in the 1-meter diving with 100.05 points.

After a training trip to Florida and a holiday break, UW-Oshkosh returns to action at Beloit College on Jan. 23.
