Titans Unable To End Duhawks' Lengthy Winning Streak

Kylee Brown scored late in the second half as the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team lost a 2-1 decision to Loras College (Iowa) on Wednesday (Oct. 10) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Brown created the game's final result when her 15-yard kick off a pass from Maddie Hill bounced off the crossbar and dropped into the back of the net with 3:44 (86:16) to play. The goal was Brown's third of the season.

Brown had two other shots during the contest, including a one-on-one attack that was saved by Loras College goalkeeper Kaylee Coble near the net in the game's 28th minute.

Loras College (11-2), which lost its previous two contests to UW-Oshkosh (5-7-1), took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Gretchen Schutz in the 10th minute (9:57). Schutz scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season on a 20-yard kick that followed a failed clear attempt by the Titans.

The Duhawks extended their lead in the 37th minute (36:26) on a 5-yard scoring kick by Emily Perhats. Perhats tallied her first score of the season following a corner kick launched by Jenny Wick.

UW-Oshkosh finished the contest with 12 shots, including three by both Brown and Maddie Morris. The Titans' four shots on goal featured the two kicks from Brown and boots from Morris and Delaney Karl that were saved by Coble in the 44th and 73rd minute, respectively.

Loras College, which has won all 10 of its matches since a 3-0 loss to the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Sept. 4, totaled 18 shots against the Titans. The Duhawks were led by the eight shots from Schutz and the three from Brianna Arreguin.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Erin Toomey recorded five saves, including three in the second half. The Titans also had a team save in the opening period.

UW-Oshkosh returns to conference play with a match at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Oct. 13).
