WIAC Soccer Teams “Playing For A Cause”
UW-Oshkosh and the seven other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women's soccer programs will participate in a "Playing For A Cause" campaign at one of its home matches during the 2018 season.
This marks the seventh time in the last eight years that the WIAC has conducted the league-wide event for women's soccer.
Each WIAC women's soccer program has selected a "cause" they will support and bring awareness to during a selected home contest.
Below are the eight matches that will have the "Playing For A Cause" theme:
Sept. 8 • Augsburg College (Minn.) at UW-Eau Claire (Diabetes Awareness)
Sept. 8 • Carthage College at UW-Stevens Point (MCHS Angel Fund)
Sept. 29 • UW-Platteville at UW-River Falls (Breast Cancer Awareness)
Oct. 6 • UW-Eau Claire at UW-Platteville (Sexual Assault Awareness)
Oct. 10 • UW-Platteville at UW-La Crosse (Child Abuse/Neglect Prevention)
Oct. 17 • UW-La Crosse at UW-Stout (Alzheimer's Awareness)
Oct. 20 • UW-River Falls at UW-Oshkosh (Love>Hate)
Oct. 20 • UW-Stout at UW-Whitewater (Autism Awareness)
Last year, UW-Oshkosh hosted UW-Platteville in its "Playing For A Cause" match. The Titans' cause was for breast cancer awareness. In 2016, UW-Oshkosh hosted UW-Stout and the cause was for pediatric organ donation.
