Titans Up Unbeaten Streak To Six Matches

The UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to six consecutive matches by playing to a scoreless overtime tie with UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday (Oct. 18) in Stevens Point.

Both squads had a shot that nearly scored, including a kick by UW-Oshkosh's Maddie Morris that bounced off the crossbar with 15 seconds left in the second overtime period.

UW-Stevens Point earned its real scoring chance in the 53rd minute when Nora Hargett followed a corner kick with a boot that glanced off the goal post.

UW-Oshkosh (6-5-4, 2-0-3 WIAC), which has gone 3-0-3 in its last six matches, had nine shots saved by UW-Stevens Point goalkeeper Sarah Peplinski. Titan Kendra Jepson had two of those shots on goal, attempts during the 31st and 88th minute of play.

UW-Oshkosh concluded the 110-minute match with 15 shots, including three by Addie Schmitz and two apiece from Jepson, Morris and Taylor Arnold.

UW-Stevens Point (8-5-2, 2-1-2 WIAC) had 10 shots blocked by UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Jessica Galason, including two each from Olivia Bohnert, Francesca Hamilton, Maddy Hardyman and Kortnee Hass. Galason stopped three shots in overtime, including a header by Bohnert and a kick by Hass in the second extra session.

The Pointers, 2-0-2 in their last four games, totaled 19 shots, including 12 in the second half. UW-Stevens Point was led by the three shots apiece from Hamilton, Hardyman, Hargett and Hass.

UW-Stevens Point earned nine of the contest's 12 corner kicks.

UW-Oshkosh and UW-La Crosse (13-1-2, 5-0 WIAC) are the lone unbeaten teams in the WIAC. The Titans look to keep their unbeaten league record intact when they host UW-Eau Claire (4-9-1, 1-3 WIAC) on Saturday (Oct. 21) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
