Titans Blitz Vikings With Double-Digit Goal Count

Eight players had goals as UW-Oshkosh reached double-digit scoring for the first time in 307 matches during its 10-0 victory over the Lawrence University women's soccer team on Wednesday (Oct. 11) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

UW-Oshkosh's goal count against the Vikings was its highest since a 13-0 win over UW-Superior on Oct. 6, 2002. The Titans' 25-year history (475 matches) also includes a 10-goal performance during their shutout victory over Ripon College on Oct. 11, 2000.

Taylor Arnold and Danielle Reptowski both scored a pair of goals on Wednesday to help UW-Oshkosh (6-5-2) defeat Lawrence University (2-11) for the 11th consecutive time.

Arnold gave the Titans a 2-0 lead when she drilled an 18-yard kick into the net off passes from Taylor Simkowski and Abby Austin during the game's 31st minute (30:14).

Arnold then extended UW-Oshkosh's advantage to 6-0 by following a serve from Maddie Morris with a 25-yard boot into the goal during the 54th minute (54:00). The scores were Arnold's second and third of the season.

Reptowski closed the scoring for UW-Oshkosh by sending both a 10-yard header and a 10-yard kick into the net during the final six minutes. Reptowski, who tallied her first and second goal of the year, scored off passes from Alek Kleis in both the 75th (74:24) and 78th minute (77:08).

Alexis Brewer began the Titans' scoring parade with her 5-yard kick 19 minutes (18:31) into play. Brewer scored her first goal of the season off a cross from Felicia Retrum.

UW-Oshkosh followed Arnold's first goal of the match with consecutive unassisted goals by Austin in the 38th minute (37:28), Michaela Schenk in the 44th (43:57) and Morris in the 47th (46:54). Austin and Schenk scored their first goal of the season on 5-yard kicks while Morris tallied her third goal of the year on a 20-yard boot.

After Arnold's second goal of the contest, UW-Oshkosh made the score 8-0 with unassisted goals by Kleis and Delaney Karl. Kleis recorded her third goal of the season on a 25-yard kick during the 71st minute (70:29) while Karl registered her first goal of the year on a 5-yard boot in the 74th (73:17).

UW-Oshkosh compiled overwhelming advantages of 47-4 in shots, 31-3 in shots on goal and 12-0 in corner kicks. The Titans attempted 26 shots in the first half and earned seven of the corner kicks in the second.

UW-Oshkosh had 17 players launch shots, including Karl and Kendra Jepson, who dispatched six apiece. The Titans also received four shots from both Austin and Kleis.

Lawrence University acquired half of its shot total from Ryan Berkley. Berkley and Amy Courter had shots saved by UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Jessica Galason in the game's 19th and 45th minute, respectively, while Kelli Quick had a shot stopped by UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Erin Toomey in the 89th.

Galason and Toomey, who both saw 45 minutes of action, combined for UW-Oshkosh's seventh shutout of the season.

Katlyn Seiffert guarded the Lawrence University goal for all 90 minutes and compiled 20 saves, including 12 in the first half. The Vikings also had a team save.

UW-Oshkosh, which has shut out its last three opponents, plays UW-Stout on Saturday (Oct. 14) in Menomonie.
