Titans Conquered By Green Knights

St. Norbert College scored twice within a five-minute span early in the second half to register a 2-0 win over the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team on Wednesday (Sept. 27) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

The Green Knights (6-4), who defeated the Titans for the second straight year, broke a scoreless contest on Monica Stephans' unassisted goal during the 50th minute (49:15) of play.

St. Norbert College added an insurance goal when Dana Schwab converted a penalty kick in the 54th minute (53:46). The Green Knights earned the penalty kick after UW-Oshkosh was called for a handball in the penalty box area.

UW-Oshkosh (3-5-1) tallied advantages of 20-16 in shots and 6-3 in corner kicks. Both teams had eight shots on goal.

The Titans, who attempted 10 shots during each half, was led by the four shots from Alek Kleis and the three from Delaney Karl. Karl and Addie Schmitz both had two shots on goal.

Schwab accounted for six of St. Norbert College's overall shot count. The Green Knights, who launched 10 of their shots during the second period, also received three shots from Stephans and two from both Aimee Conley and Sadie Jung. Schwab owned five of St. Norbert College's eight shots on goal. 

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Madelyn Runyan recorded six saves, including four in the first half. Goalkeeper Ally Magiere made five saves for the Green Knights to notch her fourth shutout of the season. St. Norbert College also had three team saves.

UW-Oshkosh begins its seven-match WIAC schedule at UW-River Falls on Saturday (Sept. 30). The Titans have won three of their last four meetings with the Falcons.
