Titans Capture Eagles In Overtime

Robyn Elliott scored less than two minutes into overtime to give the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over UW-La Crosse on Saturday (Oct. 25) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Elliott's fifth goal of the season, including her third match winner, was scored during the game's 92nd minute (91:55). Her 5-yard kick was the result of a rebound she collected off of her sister Rachel's shot that hit the right post.

The Elliotts combined for 13 of UW-Oshkosh's 19 shots, including seven of the Titans' 12 shots on goal. Robyn Elliott attempted a team-high eight shots, while Rachel Elliott launched five and Kali Jahn and Felicia Retrum two apiece.

UW-Oshkosh (9-6-1, 5-1 WIAC) appeared to have taken a 1-0 lead during the 34th minute of play, but Amanda Baalke's goal was wiped away due to an offside.

UW-La Crosse (3-7-5, 1-2-3 WIAC) totaled eight shots, including four on goal. The Eagles were led by the two shots from Tina Bedwell.

The Titans had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

UW-Oshkosh, which has allowed just one goal in its six WIAC contests this season, received four saves from goalkeeper Nina Muzi. The shutout was Muzi's seventh of the year and the Titans' ninth.

UW-La Crosse goalkeeper Ashley Tracy was credited with 11 saves, seven in the second period.

UW-La Crosse, which fell to 0-5-2 in its last seven matches, was playing in its seventh overtime contest of the season.

UW-Oshkosh can clinch second place in this year's WIAC standings with a victory over UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday (Oct. 29) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
