Titans Notch 22nd Straight Win Over Yellowjackets

Rachel Elliott scored a pair of first half goals to lead the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over UW-Superior on Saturday (Oct. 4) in Superior.

Elliott got the Titans (6-3-1, 2-0 WIAC) going with a score just 6:29 into the contest. Elliott played a corner kick from Nikki Mann and booted a short shot into the net for her team-leading fourth goal of the season. UW-Oshkosh was attacking early as it was already the second corner kick taken by Mann and the third by the Titans overall.

UW-Oshkosh took a 2-0 lead when Kali Jahn converted a penalty kick during the game's 15th minute (14:34). Jahn's second goal of the season came after a Yellowjacket foul in the 18-yard box.

The Titans concluded their first-half scoring on an unassisted goal by Elliott during the 22nd minute (21:52). UW-Oshkosh went to intermission with advantages of 11-2 in shots and 5-0 in corner kicks.

Rachel Elliott's sister, Robyn, put UW-Oshkosh ahead, 4-0, with an unassisted goal in the 55th minute (54:43). Robyn Elliott scored her third goal of the season on her only shot of the game.

UW-Oshkosh ended the match with 23 shots and six corner kicks. Rachel Elliott led the Titans with four shots, while Robyn Elliott and Katelyn Fladten contributed three each. A total of 13 different players attempted shots for UW-Oshkosh.

UW-Superior, which has lost all 22 of its matches against UW-Oshkosh, was held to just four shots. The Yellowjackets (3-8-1, 0-3 WIAC), who failed to earn a corner kick opportunity, were led by the three shots from Shelby Coombs.

Nina Muzi and Angela Christensen guarded the UW-Oshkosh goal and recorded one save each. Muzi played the first 71:02 of the match and Christensen the final 18:58. Together they combined for the Titans' sixth shutout of the season.

UW-Superior goalkeeper Bailey Henderson saved five of the nine shots she faced.

The Titans finish their two-game weekend road trip on Sunday (Oct. 5) with a match in Collegeville, Minn., against the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.).
