Rachel Elliott scored the winning goal and then added another goal to seal the victory as the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team defeated Marian University, 3-1, on Monday (Oct. 28) in Fond du Lac.

Elliott, who recorded her first goals of the season, put UW-Oshkosh ahead 2-1 with her six-yard header during the 33rd minute (32:01) of play. Her shot came off a cross from Amanda Baalke.

UW-Oshkosh (11-7-1) held its one-goal advantage until Elliott scored again in the game's 73rd minute (72:17). This time she battled through heavy traffic to kick an unassisted shot into the net from five-yards out.

Marian University (8-8-1) took a very quick 1-0 lead when Mikaila Johnson scored just 36 seconds into the contest. Her 10-yard shot followed a pass from Brittany Syms, who obtained the ball on a steal from a UW-Oshkosh player.

UW-Oshkosh created a 1-1 tie when Kali Jahn converted a penalty kick in the 27th minute (26:39) after one of her teammates was taken down inside the box. The penalty kick opportunity was the Titans' first of the season.
