Yineman Selected WIAC Wrestling Athlete Of The Week

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference picked UW-Oshkosh junior Beau Yineman as its Kwik Trip Wrestling Athlete of the Week for events held Dec. 13-19. It is the second WIAC weekly award for Yineman this season, following his selection for the period of Nov. 1-7.

Yineman, ranked second in the country at 197 pounds by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, pinned all five of his opponents to improve his season record to 20-1.

Yineman began the week by sticking University of Chicago's (Ill.) Danny Lingen to the mat in 3:43 on Dec. 16. His victory helped the 13th-ranked Titans defeat the 12th-ranked Maroons, 37-12.

Yineman then pinned all four of his challengers at the Kalahari Duals held Dec. 18 in Sandusky, Ohio. He glued Ryan Mahoney of Trine University (Ind.) to the surface in 1:37, Cameron Sauerwein of Mount St. Joseph University (Ohio) in 3:49, Jarlin Curtis of Heidelberg University (Ohio) in 2:52 and Mitch Sanders of Baldwin Wallace University (Ohio) in 1:56.

UW-Oshkosh went unbeaten at the Kalahari Duals with wins of 45-5 over Trine University, 50-6 over Mount St. Joseph University, 42-9 over Heidelberg University and 44-3 over 11th-ranked Baldwin Wallace University.
