Rangers Pin Titans With Strong Finish

UW-Parkside won the final four matches, including three by a pin, to defeat the UW-Oshkosh wrestling team, 32-18, on Thursday (Jan. 23) in Kolf Sports Center.

The Titans held an 18-9 lead after six bouts. Ronzel Darling then topped Scott Worlund, 22-6, at 125 pounds. In the 133-pound division, Joseph Her pinned Craig Mason in 3:59 to put the Rangers ahead, 20-18.

UW-Parkside (4-6), a member of the NCAA Division II, finished the match with Adam Yde's pin of Joe Pelkey in 1:41 at 141 pounds and Brandt Welcher's pin of Jerome Scott in 3:53 at 149.

Nazar Kulchytskyy scored six points for the Titans (2-6) when he pinned Zach Noel in 3:59 at 157 pounds. UW-Oshkosh also received victories of 11-4 from Dan Schiferl over Montrail Johnson at 174 pounds and 5-1 by Brandon Clapper over Jake Armelleni at 285.

The Titans' Alan Dahlke won by a forfeit at 197 pounds.

UW-Parkside's Josh Anthony recorded a pin in 2:33 against Michael Berg at 184 pounds. The Rangers wrapped up their wins with Dan Argueta's 6-3 decision over Tom Dahlke at 165.

UW-Oshkosh has three dual matches at the UW-Whitewater Border Brawl on Saturday (Jan. 25).
